Your Old Droog – We Don’t Know You

Your Old Droog is the New Yorkiest New York rapper out there, and his new single “We Don’t Know You” is one of the best tracks he’s put out in his brief career.

Droog, who you may recall some believed to be Nas’ alter ego, has a laid-back, raspy delivery that gels perfectly with the 1990s Mobb Deep-esque gun rap he usually makes. “We Don’t Know You,” however, is a bit of a departure from Droog’s norm.

It’s a smooth cut, driven by a piano-centric beat from DJ Skizz that he rides with ease. Droog truly is a terrific rapper, he’s funny and insightful, while never losing his Coney Island swagger.

Droog raps that he doesn’t “make music for mass consumption,” “We Don’t Know You is a track that should appeal to both his diehard fans and casual hip-hop heads alike.
