Today, XL Recordings shared a 15-minute documentary about “Contra,” Vampire Weekend’s second album. It’s a fascinating look into one of the best albums of 2010, and the way in which the band evolved from the success of their first release. Particularly interesting is the behind-the-scenes footage of the band in the process of developing new tracks, like a moment where lead singer Ezra Koenig first shares the melody to what would become “California English.” It’s well worth the 15 minutes to see one of today’s most important band at work, particularly for die-hard VW fans.
