So there’s new Prince. And it’s really good.

“Clouds,” the first single off his upcoming album Art Official Age, is a mesmerizing R&B track that takes everything that made Prince great and gives it a modern flare.

Accompanied by his new band, 3RDEYEGIRL, Prince Rogers Nelson sounds refreshed and alive. It’s a reassuring sight after some of his more recent releases fell short of his mammoth expectations.

Sure the time-traveling breakdown is a little distracting, but it fits the ambience of the song, and its nice to have a group of talented singers on the track to take some of the pressure off of Prince himself.
