Here’s something unexpected, Compton rapper Buddy teams up with producer/MC Chuck Inglish for an interpretation of SOHN’s “The Wheel” that is absolute fire.

Buddy, who carries a hefty co-sign from Pharrell, is clearly willing to experiment with his sound, and it certainly pays dividends here.

The beat has a woozy, syrupy feel, and though Buddy tests out a sing-song flow the track never veers into Kid Cudi territory.

Rap covers are always an iffy proposition, but Buddy’s latest is both extremely creative and highly listenable.
