Atlanta, Georgia’s Little Tybee are explorers. Though their gorgeous jazz and psychedelic-tinged folk rock works in short doses, they really excel through longer compositions. Highlights from last year’s For Distant Viewing like “Hearing Blue” and “Castle” both exceeded the five minute mark. They shift and evolve which such fluidity that you won’t even realize how much music you’ve just consumed. It’s an exhilarating journey. On an individual level, every member of the band posses near virtuosic mastery of their instrument and when they lock in as a unit it’s astounding. Of course this is obvious on record, but the group really shines in the live setting and they’ve had an amazing track record with their video segments.
