While no one’s a bigger proponent of indie R&B’s rise to prominence, there is something undeniably appealing about a little old-fashioned neo-soul. Shanaz Dorsett’s splendid new single “Four Walls & A Garden” falls perfectly into that category, blending groovy synths and horns with vintage breakbeat drums to create a catchy ode to her childhood.

The London-born songstress has a wonderful voice; it’s confident, rangy and assured without feeling the need to do too much. The track is off her Mother Tongue EP, which also features a collaboration with California MC and PGM favorite Blu.
