Mick Jenkins – “Rain”
Mick Jenkins’ recent mixtape, “The Water[s],” is one of 2014’s best, certainly one of the most cohesive releases of any genre this year. Jenkins has rightfully received plenty of attention in the wake of its release, and to build off of the rising buzz he’s just released “Rain,” his latest single. Sampling Missy Elliot’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly),” it’s a gorgeously produced, deeply haunting track that continues seamlessly the aqueous theme of his mixtape. Check it out below, and be sure to check out Mick Jenkins and fellow Chicago rapper Saba at the Portage Theater on October 11. Tickets are only $10, so there’s no reason to miss out.
