Ryn Weaver – “Promises”
Ryn Weaver’s “Octahate” was one of the best debut songs we’ve heard this year, and her follow-up, “Promises” follows perfectly in its footsteps.
The track isn’t as instantly catchy as “Octahate,” but it has the same transcendent blend of synths and vocal harmonies that makes her affiliation with Passion Pit and Cashmere Cat more than apparent.
Weaver’s voice has more earnestness in it than most contemporary pop singers, and it keeps her from being swallowed up by the mammoth instrumentals. A lesser vocalist would just fade into the background, but Weaver compliments the tracks perfectly.
There still isn’t much info available about her, but we’ll be sure to post anymore tracks she puts out.
