Watch: Jason Derulo’s Music Video for “Cheyenne”
Jason Derulo channels his inner Michael Jackson in the music video for “Cheyenne,” a track from his album Everything is 4, which was released in early June. The video, allegedly inspired by the movie The Haunting, involves Derulo falling in love with a woman he can’t escape.
“I wanted to take it back to when music videos had a huge concept and a huge dance break,” Derulo told Good Morning America. “The video is kind of like The Haunting; Cheyenne is haunting my mind and she haunts me within the video.”
The song, a catchy 80s-esque jam, is produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and The Monsters and the Strangerz. In spite of the clean production, the song has one downfall: Derulo never sings his own name in it.
You might be wondering, why am I encouraging you to listen to music that you could hear on Top 40 radio? Because what else are you supposed to sing in the shower?
