The Walters – Hunk Beach
We’re a little late on this one, but Chicago band The Walters recently released their new single “Hunk Beach,” and as with a lot of their previous music its a breezy, infectious track that you can’t help but put on repeat.
Their wonderfully titled 2014 EP Songs for Dads was an extremely impressive first release for such a young group, and “Hunk Beach” only builds on the recipe that has worked so far.
They’re a fun, lively bunch with a great sense of humor and catchy harmonies. The Walters aren’t out here to make genre-defining music, but by being comfortable with themselves and having chemistry as a band they’ve churned out some of Chicago’s most enjoyable indie rock.
“Hunk Beach” is on the more somber side for the band, fitting in with tracks like “Life” and “What’s Left,” but it isn’t a downer thanks to some slick guitar work and Luke Olson’s charisma on the mic.
It’s exciting to hear such a talented band grow and develop, and we’re confident The Walters’ next project is going to be something special.
