Do you get it? Do you get the joke? Because it is a free album called Free that is also a freestyle do you get it do you get the joke?

At the perfect time when the Drake v. Meek Mill beef became nothing if not cruel, Chance the Rapper and Lil B released Free, a completely off-the-dome project that can only be described as fun. While the album doesn’t rival either emcees’ best work, it doesn’t really attempt to do so. Free seems to have been created as a love letter to hip hop rather than an official release.

While particular standouts include the menacing “We Rare,” and the soulful opener “Last Dance,” the album is best enjoyed simply by appreciating the rappers’ chemistry.
