Twin Within – Tunnel to the Reservoir [PREMIER]
Twin Within’s debut album Horizontal Lines was a painstaking effort that has been in the works for five years, and you can hear the labor from Steve McKay and Alex Samaras in every one of the record’s eight tracks.
Among the most impressive and experimental is “Tunnel to the Reservoir,” the track we’re premiering on Pretty Good Music for you today.
McKay describes it as being “about wishing for simpler times,” and it certainly has a nostalgic feel with its echoes of chamber pop and gorgeous, longing vocal harmonies.
The track is a lush mix of sweeping guitars, strings and flourishes of percussion that gives it a dreamlike, hypnotic quality.
McKay and Samaras clearly have a unique chemistry, and their voices fit together perfectly on “Tunnel to the Reservoir,” and the rest of the album for that matter.
The album is out today via Hidden Pony Records, and if you’re looking for some boundary-pushing new tunes we strongly recommend Twin Within.
