If you’re wondering who Ratatat is, we probably haven’t hung out much. The Brooklyn-based electronic/instrumental duo of Evan Mast and Mike Stroud is set to release its fifth album, called Magnifique. The album is out July 17^th from XL.

Ratatat, typically known for straddling the line between rock and electronica, seems to be going back to a guitar-driven sound on Magnifique after the sonic experimentation of LP3 and LP4. “This record’s a little more organized and deliberate, maybe. It’s mostly just guitars and bass and drums,” Mast stated in an interview with Spin.

The upcoming album will include the previously-released single “Cream on Chrome” as well as a cover of Springwater’s “I Will Return.”

Ratatat, performing in Chicago at the Riviera Theater on September 8^th, released track listings and expanded tour dates in addition to a trailer for the album, featured below.
