Allan Kingdom has carved out a niche for himself as an envelope pushing, sharp-tongued MC, but on his latest single “Take It” he does something that’s particularly left field.

He makes a track you can dance to.

That’s not to say “Take It” substitutes 808 handclaps for lyricism, because it’s as smart as any of his previous work, but the beat, also made by Kingdom, is undeniably infectious with its scattered synths and head-nod inducing drums.

The multi-talented Kingdom hits an array of topics on the track and frequently switches between flows and accents with ease. There are shades of Tyler, the Creator here, but with less shock value.
