Eyelid Kid – “Sleeps Well on Knives”
Here’s something you don’t see everyday: A band ostensibly without a Facebook, Twitter or any real social media presence.
I found Eyelid Kid through one of my personal favorite blogs, Sunset in the Rearview, and was instantly hooked.
Stereogum determined that they’re a group hailing from Southern California and has some more information, but the music really speaks for itself.
“Sleeps Well on Knives,” the band’s second track, is a sparse, anxious record that sounds like a stripped-down version of Interpol with some hints of Tame Impala psychedelia.
That said, it’s also remarkably catchy, a terrific mix of delicate drums, piano and falsetto that creates a very distinct kind of melancholy.
We’ll definitely be posting more of their stuff as it comes out, but for now also check out their first track, “Time Travel.”
