Viet Cong’s EP “Cassette” has been one of my favorite releases of the year, bringing a scuzzy, lo-fi punk vibe that worked across the release’s seven tracks. Now, the band is working on their first official LP, a self-titled release that’s out January 20 next year. Today, they’ve debuted the first single, “Continental Shelf,” and it maintains the murky sonics of their first release, while expanding the songwriting into a more anthemic direction. It’s a good taste of what the band is capable of going forward, and well worth a listen. Check it out below:
