Dornik first caught our attention with his terrific singles “Rebound” and “Something About You,” but his new track “On My Mind” has the potential to vault him to stardom.

Dornik, who is Jessie Ware’s former touring drummer, has an ear for melody and a feel for shiny, 21st century R&B that is matched by few contemporary artists. His tracks are smooth and highly listenable but never veer into the predictable or boring.

“On My Mind” doesn’t quite match the frantic pace of “Rebound,” it goes at a more languid pace that matches “Something About You.”

Backed by a line of Neptunes-y drums and synths “On My Mind” does a terrific job of showcasing Dornik’s vocals.
