Baths drops new track “Disorderly”

With Ocean Death earlier this year, Baths’ Will Wiesenfeld continued the somber, dark direction of his second full length Obsidian. The Aphex-esque voice warps of the title track and twinkling dulcimer and string arrangements on “Yawn” highlighted what’s so great about Baths; no matter what direction he strikes out in, it’s always unique and personal. His new track “Disorderly” is no different. It’s a lyrically striking track, “forgot to thank you for your love, whatever your name was” in particular, and balances the sweet, pulsing synths with some Robyn Hitchcock dead pan vocal delivery. It’s a fantastic new song from somebody who has managed to escape the “bedroom producer” tag pretty successfully. RIP 2010.
