We’ve gotten a fair amount of submission at PGM. But we’ve never gotten something quite like Gia Koka.

From the subject line of the email: “Submission: If Jai Paul & Aaliyah had a daughter together, I imagine this is what she would sound like,” we were undeniably intrigued.

Luckily, Koka’s debut single, “FCUKU” more than delivers on the lofty claim.

The Jai Paul influence is apparent with the trilling guitars and quivering falsetto, but the track reminds me of Jeremih and Shlohmo’s collaborations more than anything else.

The track, which Koka produced herself, also features guest appearances by Black Rockstar, January ELH, Steffen Morrison and Dichter.

After such a stunning debut, we’ll certainly be featuring more Gia Koka in the future.
