New York rapper Yonas just dropped a new single, a terrific flip of British singer John Newman’s “Love Me Again.”

Yonas’ sound has long been using unique samples to add an alternative twist to his music and this Sean Ross-produced cut certainly keeps with that theme. Ross chops the Newman sample into a kind of static-y EDM hook that compliments the track’s booming drums and synths.

Yonas isn’t the most technically gifted rapper, but he’s right at home on a sleek, honest song like “Love Me Again.”
